Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 22:8 (3 September 2008):   “I John saw these things, and heard them,” as discussed in notes on Revelation 1:1, John is a mistranslation of the Hebrew words for those whom Yehuveh has redirected and molded. Those who have been molded into righteous living by Yehuveh’s instruction see and hear all that this book has presented. No one else understands: “Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” “And they that understand among the people shall instruct many.” “Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of Yehuveh.” “A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.” Daniel 12:1011:33; Psalms 107:43; Proverbs 1:5 [also, Proverbs 2:1-5].

“When I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship,” states that these Yehuveh-molded people were so astonished at these insights that they fell in respect before the message and those messengers who carried it. This is not an astonishing response, for Torah is full of similar responses: Abraham had fallen on his face when Yehuveh came to talk with him, Genesis 17:3; Manoah and his wife both fell down before the messenger that announce Samson’s birth and assignment, Judges 13:20; all Israel fell on their faces before Yehuveh’s demonstration of glory, Leviticus 19:23-24; David fell on his face before the messenger of Yehuveh, 1 Chronicles 21:16, 26; Ezekiel and Daniel, likewise, Ezekiel 1:26, 28 and Daniel 10:9. However, no matter how common this response, the truth remains that worshipping anything or anyone besides Yehuveh breaches the first, second, and third commandment structures.

“Before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.” This bowing is at the steps [feet] which open these insights. We bow at the call to higher purity, at the appeal for a more careful diet and lifestyle, at the opportunity for greater intimacy with Yehuveh. Although we should bow or yield at all these things, Yehuveh is very clear that these are simply steps to be taken, not issues to be worshipped.
