Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 22:5 (1 September 2008):   “There shall be no night there,” that is, there will be absolutely no darkness, ignorance, uncertainty, or confusion in anyone’s mind at this time, as discussed in notes on Revelation 21:25. “The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.” Since there is no more wickedness, there can be no more darkness! Proverbs 4:18, 19. Also study Psalms 36:9; 84:11; Proverbs 4:18, 19; Isaiah 60:19, 20; Revelation 18:23; 21:22-25.

“They need no candle,” that is, they need no small lights of their own kindling or conveyance. Compare the discussion in notes on Revelation 18:23. “The spirit of man is the candle of Yehuveh, searching all the inward parts of the belly.” “There shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.” Proverbs 20:27; 24:20. Also consider Job 18:6; 21:17; 29:3; Psalms 18:28; Proverbs 31:18; Jeremiah 25:10; Zephaniah 1:12.

“Neither light of the sun,” neither the light of written Scripture, as discussed in notes on Revelation 6:2 and 21:23. It the presence of living instruction no one will again turn to the static and fixed information of written records. As discussed in notes on Revelation 21:23, men were never meant to write nor to be bound by the unchangeable qualities of written records! Finally, in the full glory of Yehuveh’s living instruction, we will be forever freed from this rigid means of teaching. While it has served us through these dark times, written instruction will be totally inappropriate and repulsive when we have the full glory of Yehuveh’s personal presence!

“For Yehuveh Elohim giveth them light,” both by His presence and by His living instruction! “The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but Yehuveh shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy Elohim thy glory. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for Yehuveh shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.” “His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of His praise.” “The city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of Elohim did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Yehuveh, in the light of Thy countenance.” “Yehuveh is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Yehuveh is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” “For thou wilt light my candle: Yehuveh my Elohim will enlighten my darkness.” Isaiah 60:19-20; Habakkuk 3:3; Revelation 21:23; Psalms 89:15; 27:1; 118:27; 18:28.

“They shall reign for ever and ever.” This final establishment of unending righteous global government is a solidly established fact in Scripture: “The kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.” “The saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.” “The seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Yehuveh, and of His anointed; and He shall reign for ever and ever.” “Yehuveh shall reign for ever, even thy Elohim, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye Yehuveh.” Yehuveh, the Lamb-king, and those who serve under them will indeed reign forever in a righteous global government. Daniel 7:27, 18; Revelation 11:15; Psalms 146:10.
