Commentary on Revelation 21:17 expansion (4 August 2008):

Commandment or Structure #5Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” Exodus 20:8. (2 August 2008)

Detail #5:1At creation Yehuveh modeled work-six-days-rest-one.It is a sign between Me and
                the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Yehuveh made heaven and earth, and on the
                seventh day He rested, and was refreshed.”
Exodus 31:17. Also: Genesis 1:31-2:3; Exodus 20:11;
                Psalms 95:4-7
.

Detail #5:2Sabbath is for our re-fresh-ment, re-starting our beings. “In six days Yehuveh made
                heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was
refreshed.” “Six days thou shalt
                do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and
                the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be
refreshed.” Exodus 31:17; 23:12. Also:

Genesis 2:3; Exodus 16:23, 30; 31:15; Leviticus 23:3; 1 Samuel 16:23; 2 Samuel 16:14;
                1 Kings 13:7; Job 7:20
[Yehuveh is the preserver (refresher)]; 32:20; Proverbs 25:13;
                Isaiah 28:12;
Ezekiel 16:27 [Yehuveh “delivered thee unto the will (refreshment) of those that
                hate thee.”
].

Detail #5:3Sabbaths are time for personal instruction from Yehuveh. “The gate of the inner court
                that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the sabbath it shall be
                opened, and in the day of the new moon it shall be opened. . . . The gate shall not be shut
                until the evening. Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before
                Yehuveh in the sabbaths and in the new moons.”
Entrance into the deep wisdom of Yehuveh is
                open to us
only on His Sabbaths. Is it any wonder, then, than those who guard His Sabbaths are
                elevated.
They embraced His instruction, for which “Yehuveh hath given you the Sabbath.”

Ezekiel 46:1-3; Exodus 16:29.

  “The seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, an holy convocation (meeting or interface): . . . it is
                the Sabbath of Yehuveh in all your dwellings.”
While we may not have the privilege every
                Sabbath of physically meeting with others who know Yehuveh,
this convocation is more focused
                on our meeting with Yehuveh Himself.
Regarding the sanctuary bread, symbol of the
                instruction which is to nourish us, Yehuveh states:
“Every sabbath he shall set it in order
                before Yehuveh continually.”
Every Sabbath we are to enjoy fresh instruction, coming away
                from the intimate encounter with Yehuveh with wisdom and insight we’ve never before known.

Leviticus 23:3; 24:8. Also: Exodus 31:13; Nehemiah 9:14; Isaiah 58:13, 14; Ezekiel 20:12.

Detail #5:4Sabbath-keeping is a perpetual covenant for all people. “Wherefore the children of
                Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a
                perpetual covenant.” “He hath remembered His covenant for ever, the word which He
                commanded to a thousand generations.”
Exodus 31:16-17; Psalms 105:8. Also: Genesis 9:12-16;
                17:7, 11, 13, 19; Leviticus 24:8; Numbers 18:19; 25:13; Joshua 4:7; 2 Samuel 23:5; 1 Chronicles
                16:15-17; 2 Chronicles 13:5; Job 41:4; Psalms 89:28; 105:10; 111:5, 9; Isaiah 56:4-7; 59:21;
