Lamb-king.

Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 21:14 (20 July 2008):  “The wall of the city,” that is, “the elevated structured guidance which protects Yehuveh’s people,” the principles on which they order life and make decisions, His “commandments, . . . statutes, and . . . judgments,” are discussed in notes on Revelation 21:12

“Had twelve foundations,” that is, twelve fundamental principles on which all the rest of the moral code [the wall of Revelation 21:12 and 21:17 composed of twelve detailed statutes and judgments for each commandment] is established. Contrary to the Greek-based traditional view that there are ten commandments on which to organize our lives, Torah presents twelve, as delineated below. Foundations is from themelios [G2310], meaning “laid down as a foundation, the foundation (of a building, wall, city); metaphysically, the foundations, beginnings, first principals, of institution or system of truth,” and used only in Revelation 21 [14, 19 (twice)].

“In them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.” In these twelve foundational guidelines are the identity of order for the exalted purity of the Lamb-king’s life. Names is anything by which an entity is identified, as noted by Revelation 2:17; 8:11. Apostles, from apostolos [G0652, “a delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders,”] is used only in Revelation 2:2; 21:14.
