Significant Words and Comments: Commentary on Revelation 21:14 continued (20 July 2008): “The wall of the city had twelve foundations,” that is, twelve fundamental principles on which all the rest of the moral code is established. Torah presents these twelve commandments or foundation structures in Exodus 20:3-17 and Deuteronomy 5:7-21. Explanation and Scriptural foundation of the eighth: Structure #8: “Thou shalt not kill.” Exodus 20:13; Deuteronomy 5:17. Corresponding Quality from Qabbalah, the Tree of Life: purposed ambition Companion Statutes and Right-Rulings (judgments) which raise a protective wall on this foundation. Corresponding Foundation Stone, Tribe, and Sign of Zadok Significance: If no other commandment were kept, most of us want this one to stick. It is the base under any sense of safety or security wherever we are. Little wonder there is such extensive Scriptural emphasis on this boundary and such immediate innate revulsion to any act of violation. Although Yehuveh clearly stated, “Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of Elohim made He man,” evaluation of the crime was to be handled by the city leaders, and usually the responsibility for this just punishment was reserved for the family who had been wronged. Under righteous government this system was effective, but when human government with its walls “daubed with untempered mortar” replaced true righteousness, this system of personally-guarded justice also failed. The monstrous “legal system” which has arisen to manage these matters is neither effective nor just to either murdered persons’ families nor to murderers. Furthermore, the thousands of false accusations have graphically demonstrated the injustice perpetrated on innocent people who would never kill anyone. Genesis 9:6; . How far does this command reach? Can you swat a mosquito or housefly? What about mouse and rat traps? As with every other directive and established boundary, Yehuveh purposes balanced intelligence in our reading of this command. Read every text mentioned below and prayerfully consider the intent of heart involved. Kill is translated from ratsach [H7523], stated by James Strong to mean “to dash in pieces, kill (a human being), specifically, to murder.” While compassion is to guide our every action, there is no evidence in Scripture that we, living in a sin-ridden world, are required to preserve the lives of destructive pests [such as mosquitoes and rats]. Be very careful how you read that statement! Wall built on this foundation: Genesis 4:8-23; 9:5, 6; Exodus 21:14, 20, 29; Leviticus 24:21; Numbers 35:16-34; Deuteronomy 19:11-13; 2 Samuel 12:9, 10; 2 Kings 21:16; 2 Chronicles 24:22; Psalms 10:8-11; Proverbs 1:11, 18; Isaiah 26:21; Jeremiah 26:15. Wall “daubed with untempered mortar” on this foundation: Call it Choice, Roe vs. Wade, Abortion or a Woman’s Right, the nationally legalized infanticide is blatantly violating this life-structuring command. Silent genocide laws permeate the food and drug industries! Gael Bataman Originally Written: 23 July 2008 Latest Update: 5 November 2008 Return One Page Return to Zadok Home Page Continue . . .
