Significant Words and Comments: Commentary on Revelation 21:8 (19 July 2008): As will be clear at the end of this evaluation, every kind of person or quality here listed has been and will be utterly consumed in the reservoir of intense conviction and sound judgment. This is not a statement about the destruction of anyone, for the entire chapter of Revelation 21 describes events which occur [in the sixth Year of Returning (Darius)] two years after “all the wicked and the godless” have been “removed” from the earth.” Enoch I:1. “The fearful,” from deilos [G1169, from deos, “to dread”], meaning “timid, fearful,” and used only here in Revelation. At the time all people are righteous and have every prosperity and peace, how can anyone be afraid? It is totally incompatable with full restoration. Long before this, Yehuveh had told His anointed instructors, “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your Elohim will come with vengeance, even Elohim with a recompence; he will come and save you.” He has come and He has saved them! No fear remains! “In that day shall Yehuveh defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David [“David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and Yehuveh was with him.”].” Isaiah 35:4; Zechariah 12:8 [1 Samuel 18:14]. “Unbelieving,” from apistos [G0571], meaning “unfaithful, faithless, (not to be trusted, perfidious); incredible; unbelieving, incredulous; without trust (in Elohim),” and used only here in Revelation. Doubt, unbelief, and lack of confidence in Yehuveh have all given way to intense conviction of His righteous completeness. Everyone now alive has responded to His appeal: “Turn you at My reproof: behold, I will pour out My spirit unto you, I will make known My words unto you. . . . For the turning away of the simple [has slain] them, and the prosperity of fools [has destroyed] them. But whoso hearkeneth unto Me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” Proverbs 1:23-33. “The abominable,” from bdelusso [G0948], meaning “to render foul, to cause to be abhorred; abominable; to turn one’s self away from on account of the stench; to abhor, detest,” and used only here in Revelation. “The abominable” are those committing abominations, which, as discussed in notes on Revelation 17:4, include “These six things doth Yehuveh hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: (1) a proud look, (2) a lying tongue, and (3) hands that shed innocent blood, (4) an heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, (5) feet that be swift in running to mischief, (6) a false witness that speaketh lies, and (7) he that soweth discord among brethren.” “The (8) froward [luwz, H3868, perverse, turn aside] is abomination to Yehuveh.” “(9)A false balance is abomination to Yehuveh.” “(10) The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Yehuveh. . . . (11) The way of the wicked is an abomination unto Yehuveh.” “(12) The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to Yehuveh.” “(13) Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to Yehuveh.” “(14) He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to Yehuveh.” “(15) Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to Yehuveh.” “(16) The scorner is an abomination to men.” “(17) He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.” Every one of these behaviors and attitudes have yielded to intense conviction and sound judgment. All are gone! Proverbs 6:16-19 [12:22]; 3:32 [11:20]; 11:1; 15:8-9, 26; 16:5; 17:15; 20:10 [20:23]; 24:9; 28:9.
