Revelation 21:4a

21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Re-evaluation Translation:
21:4 Yehuveh Himself will wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are surpassed.
Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 21:4 (18 July 2008): “Elohim shall wipe away all tears from their eyes,” identical to the last phrase of Revelation 7:17, speaks of Yehuveh removing every cause of grief and sorrow from these purified, restored people. “Yehuveh Elohim will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for Yehuveh hath spoken it.” “And the ransomed of Yehuveh shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” “For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: He will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when He shall hear it, He will answer thee.” “Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for Yehuveh shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.” “To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yehuveh, that He might be glorified.” Wipe away is from exaleipho [G1813], “to anoint or wash in every part; to besmear, that is, to cover (with whitewash or plaster); to wipe off, wipe away, obliterate, erase, wipe out, blot out.” Exaleipho is used only three times in Revelation [3:5; 7:17; 21:4], speaking of total eradication. Exaleipho is the word translated “I will not blot out his name out of the book of life,” in Revelation 3:5. Tears are discussed by Revelation 7:17; eyes, by Revelation 3:18. Isaiah 25:8; 35:10; 30:19; 60:20; 61:3.
“There shall be no more death,” is saying that all who reach this point will, from this time onward, live forever. This was the purpose of Yehuveh before Adam’s rebellion [see Genesis 3:22], and will be restored as the future of all those who again live by Yehuveh’s righteous wisdom and instruction! “He will swallow up death in victory.” “Death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.” “I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction.” “After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.” Study death by Revelation 2:11; 6:8. “Neither sorrow, nor crying,” because we will have no distress or loss to cause sorrow or grief. We will shed no more tears! What an awesome promise! “Yehuveh shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.” “Thou shalt weep no more: He will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when He shall hear it, He will answer thee.” “There shall be no more curse.” Crying, from krauge [G2906], meaning “a crying, outcry, clamor,” is used only in Revelation 14:18 and here in Revelation 21:4.
