Revelation 19:20a
Revelation 19, Page 18

Bible, KJV Translation
19:20  And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Re-evaluation Translation
19:20  The desire to control others was removed, and with it the dependence on lying religious leaders, which motivated the need to force all to accept a personal identity marker, which deceived all who received this marker and yielded allegiance. Both were destroyed by living, burning conviction with sound judgment.

Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 19:20 (8 July 2008):  “The beast was taken,” hardly presents the power of the Greek phrase. Taken is from piazo [G4084], meaning “to seize, lay hold of, take hold of, capture; to apprehend, arrest,” and is used only here in Revelation. The beast, the desire to control other men and dominate their lives—from the enslavement of just one person to the grandest desire for global consolidation and dominion—is seized, completely and forever removed from human thinking. In Yehuveh’s restored kingdom, men will be content to care for their own families and look after matters within their own local areas. All desires for amassing large dominions for any reason will be taken from men’s minds. Under Yehuveh’s rule, self-aggrandizement, exploitation, pursuit of wealth and power, and every other motivation which had made men and nations seek to enlarge their dominion or gain control over others will be forever destroyed. Beast is discussed in notes on Revelation 11:7; 13:1, 11.

“With him the false prophet,” that is, “everyone who teaches a corrupted message and claims it is from Yehuveh will be destroyed right along with everyone who in any manner seeks to control another.” As discussed in notes on Revelation 16:13, the false prophet is a collective description of “anyone who speaks for or otherwise represents Yehuveh, but does so dishonestly and dishonorably, . . . including pastors, priests, rabbis, professors, teachers, and, unfortunately very often, parents and friends.” Isaiah 9:15 calls these liars “the prophet that teacheth lies,” and Jeremiah 14:14 explains: “The prophets prophesy lies in My name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.”

“That wrought miracles before him,” is “demanded identification marking,” as discussed in notes beside Revelation 13:13. These wonders are not nuclear bombs or astonishing new devices of warfare, but rather refer to the Russian-Chinese-led dominion’s demand that every person receive implanted personal identification, the infamous “mark of the beast.” Every aspect of this mentality and action will be forever removed from human thinking. Praise Yah! No wonder this chapter begins with such exalted praise! When these wrongs are forever removed we will truly have reason for joy and rejoicing! Study the entire discussion in Revelation 13:11-18. Before, see Revelation 4:6.

“With which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast,” is a simple and tragic statement. “Through threatening to prevent all economic exchange for anyone who refused to accept the implanted identification marker, these powerful social dominions have convinced all the men who had no connection with Yehuveh that they could only survive by yielding unquestioning allegiance to these human institutions.” Faced with this forceful threat, fearful men have yielded allegiance, not knowing that in Yehuveh we have every resource and strength to cast off this horrible dominion and exploitive control. “O fear Yehuveh, ye His saints: for there is no want to them that fear Him.  The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek Yehuveh shall not want any good thing.” “For Yehuveh Elohim is a sun and shield: Yehuveh will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.” “The eyes of Yehuveh are upon the righteous, and His ears are open unto their cry.” “Yehuveh is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Deceived is discussed by Revelation 13:14; mark of the beast as a demanded implanted identification marker by Revelation 13:16, 17. Psalms 34:9-10; 84:11; 34:15; 23:1.
