Re-evaluation Translation
12:13  When the global socio-economic system influences only those not committed to Yehuveh, it compels the arising Yehuveh-trusting people to escape.

Bible, KJV Translation
12:13  And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.

Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 12:13 (29 February 2008):  “When the dragon,” the global socio-economic system currently in place [derived from ancient Babylonian and Roman systems], as discussed in notes on Revelation 12:3.

“Saw that he was cast unto the earth.” Cast, from ballo [G0906], meaning “to throw with force and effort not caring where it lands,” the same Greek word used three times in Revelation 12:9, is discussed in the notes on Revelation 4:10. Under the righteous instruction of Yehuveh’s anointed instructors, this oppressive global socio-economic system will collapse with force, but certainly not willingly. “Cast into the earth,” indicates that only those not committed to Yehuveh now support and uphold this violating system, a sad situation for them as they are the only ones this system can oppress [see notes on Revelation 9:4]!

“He persecuted,” is poorly translated, for the Greek more accurately says, “he caused to flee,” or “he caused to become refugees.” He, is of course an assumed pronoun which here should be it, the dragon. Persecuted is from dioko [G1377], “to make to flee, put to flight, drive away; to run swiftly after; in any way whatever to harass, trouble, molest one; to pursue, to seek after eagerly, earnestly endeavor to acquire.” This is the only use of dioko in Revelation.

“The woman,” the remnant people of Israel who have awakened and are arising. See notes on Revelation 12:4.

“Which brought forth the man child” is “which have formed tight bonds of unity” with Yehuveh. See notes on Revelation 12:4b and 12:5.
