Re-evaluation Translation
12:5  With the rising-up Israel comes the
Lamb-king, who was to rule all nations with unbending righteous instruction: and they seize Elohim, and His self-governing.

Bible, KJV Translation
12:5  And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 12:5 (26 February 2008):   “She brought forth,” is from tikto [G5088], the same word which was translated delivered and born in Revelation 12:4. Tikto means “to bring forth, bear, produce (fruit from the seed); of a woman giving birth; of the earth bringing forth its fruits.” While we use this concept associated with birthing, it is also accurately presented in the words of Isaiah: “Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.” “He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness: and gave them the lands of the heathen: and they inherited the labour of the people; that they might observe His statutes, and keep His laws. Praise ye Yehuveh.” Rather than a woman birthing a son speaking of a church, as in the traditional perspective, this is a Scriptural reference to Israel restored to their covenant union with Yehuveh! With what urgency should we embrace the truths Yehuveh is restoring to us at this time. “Be in pain, and labour to bring forth, O daughter of Zion, like a woman in travail.” Our deliverance, painful as labor, will yet be as joyful as birth! Isaiah 66:7-8; Psalms 105:43-45; Micah 4:10.

“A man child,” from the Greek words huios [G5207], meaning “a son, one who depends on another or is his follower,” and arrhen or arsen [G0730], “a male.” As discussed in great detail in Revelation 5, this high ruler is the Lamb-king, the raised-up white bull: “Thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto Me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. Therefore will He [Yehuveh] give them [Israel] up, until the time that she which travaileth [restored Israel] hath brought forth [confirmed “the covenant with many”]: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. And he shall stand and feed in the strength of Yehuveh, in the majesty of the name of Yehuveh his Elohim; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.” This man child describes all the anointed who will rule with this Lamb-king. Micah 5:2-4.

“Who was to rule all nations,” is to shepherd or guide them, not to dominate them. Compare the discussion with each of the previous uses of poimaino [G4165, “to feed, to tend a flock, keep sheep; to rule, govern”] in Revelation 2:27 and 7:17 and the one which follows in 19:15. The Lamb-king can instruct and guide with the lightest touch because the restored nations all “hate the evil, and love the good, and” have established “judgment in the gate.” They govern themselves in righteousness and justice, and he needs only to continually teach them Yehuveh’s ways to have their full cooperation! Amos 5:15.
As discussed in the notes on
Revelation 2:27, shepherding “with a rod of iron” is speaking of self-directed self-government, not of the cruel domination and oppression used in the governments of the world at this time.

“Her child was caught up,” in Greek reads, “and seized the child of him” that is, those who are confirming their covenant bonds with Yehuveh at this time “seize Elohim,” as in taking hold of Him and not letting go. Ezekiel’s name means “one who seizes Elohim,” and becomes the identity of Yehuveh’s people at this time. All who are restored to Yehuveh’s ways at this time are tenacious!

“And to His throne,” “authority, leadership, seat of power,” as discussed in the notes on Revelation 4:2. Those who seize Yehuveh and will not let go will return whole-heartedly to His system of government: individual righteous self-government. They will honor the Lamb-king by doing right in all their choices!
