Revelation 12, Page 1 | |||||
Re-evaluation Translation: 12:1 A significant sign was formed in the astronomical heavens; Virgo with the sun at her center, the moon under her feet, a crown of twelve stars at her head: 12:2 And the planet Jupiter, the messenger planet, in the birthing region near Spica, and positioned to proceed from Virgo. 12:3 Another amazing thing appeared among Yehuveh’s protected people: a powerful dragon-like system of control, with corrupted time-keeping and laws. |

Bible, KJV Translation: 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 12:2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. |

Significant Words and Comments: Commentary on Revelation 12:1-2 (22 February 2008): “There appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: and she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.” These two verses describe the unique astronomical “sign in heaven” visible on 5 October 2005 which clearly marked the initiation of Yehuveh’s 1260-day preparation of His people before He opens His war against the “Great Red Dragon,” the socio-economic beast-system of this world. That evening the sun was positioned in the middle of [clothed] Virgo (not visible until it set, of course), the moon was beneath her feet (visible very briefly after the sun set), the Coma Berenices cluster of stars was above her head (only visible just before sunrise the next morning), and Jupiter, the messenger planet, was in the birthing region near Spica (like the moon, only visible very briefly after the sun set and with the use of optical aids). This sign has occurred but once in history, clearly marking the time when Yehuveh would begin a 1260-day special preparation for war against the great dragon. At the time of this update, this preparation, which ended on 17 March 2009. is past and we are well into Yehuveh’s warfare against the great dragon. Intensifying the warfare in this past half year, “Yehuveh hath opened His armoury, and hath brought forth the weapons of His indignation: for this is the work of Yehuveh Elohim of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans [“the merciful ones,” the descendents of Arphaxad, meaning “burning mercy,”].” “They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even Yehuveh, and the weapons of His indignation, to destroy the whole land.” Expanded human warfare, natural disasters increasing in frequency and intensity, widespread disease and pollution, and desperation-driven violence as people are displaced and resources decreased—all weapons of Yehuveh’s indignation against a corrupted world. The world is indeed in trouble, “a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.” “O Yehuveh, be gracious unto us; we have waited for Thee: be Thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.” Daniel 6:27; Jeremiah 50:25; Isaiah 13:5; Daniel 12:1; Isaiah 33:2. Having lost most of what Enoch and the early people understood about astronomical signs and their Yehuveh-given astrological significance, we are largely limited to the Scriptural interpretation of any given sign once we have identified it. Thus, when Zechariah 6:1-2 presents a sign which occured on 4 August 2008, the following verses explain the practical import of this sign. Just so here. Revelation 12:1-2 has given us the sign for which to watch, the remainder of the chapter explains its importance and application. Commentary on Revelation 12:3 (22 February 2008): “There appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” Though written in similar language, this is not an astronomical marker, but the earthly counterpart to the marker in Revelation 12:1-2. Yehuveh clearly tells us, “I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.” At the very time the wonders are seen in the heavens identifying the time, we will see blood (reviving of spiritual and physical life), fire (intense conviction), and pillars of smoke (national and international governments supporting themselves on oppression) on the earth! Joel 2:30. This great red dragon, apt description of the global socio-economic system now in power, is discussed in detail in three articles in Section 6: Prophecy: “A Great Red Dragon”; Seven Heads with Blasphemous Names; and Ten Horns and Crowns.
