Re-evaluation Translation
7:3  Saying, Do not bring reforms to the uncommitted, the ignorant, or the leaders, until the servants of Elohim have deeply confirmed their covenant with Him.

7:3  Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

Significant Words and Comments:
Commentary on Revelation 7:3 (16 January 2008):   “Hurt not,” is from adikeo [G0091], meaning “to act unjustly or wickedly, to sin; to be a criminal, to have violated the laws in some way; to do wrong; to hurt.” The underlying meaning, however, is “to go up against so as to bring about a change.”
       
“Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees,” indicates “do not confront the undecided, the ignorant, and the leaders.” See notes on Revelation 5:13; 7:1.
       
“Till we have sealed,” states a clear time-sequence. The undecided, ignorant and leaders cannot be called to Yehuveh’s ways until He has teachers prepared to call them. Not a shock! Until then, He has (1) no leadership on which to establish His kingdom; and (2) no teachers to extend His kingdom to others.
       
“The servants of our Elohim,” are those who trust in Elohim so completely that they will act as He instructs. Servants are all who “join themselves to Yehuveh, to serve Him, and to love the name of Yehuveh, to be His servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of My covenant.” “Yehuveh redeemeth the soul of His servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate.” “Surely Yehuveh Elohim will do nothing, but He revealeth His secret unto His servants the prophets.” But in particular, in this context, the servants are those anointed to lead the way, those who will pioneer the path back to Yehuveh. Revelation 14:4 calls them firstfruits, the first to “ripen” in righteousness! Isaiah 56:6; Psalms 34:22; Amos 3:7.
       
“In their foreheads,” from metopon [G3359], “the space between the eyes, the forehead;” from G3326 [the word used at the beginning of Revelation 4:1 and 7:1] “in the middle of” and ops (the face), an unused word from entry G3700. But this word is speaking of far more than mid-face, it is literally mid-head, descriptive of the brain, and ultimately of the mind. It is the equivalent of Ezekiel’s and Daniel’s word “firmament,” raqiya`, [H7549], meaning “an expanse.” Just as wings [Revelation 4:8] indicated extending the mind and understanding, metopon and raqiya` both indicate any mind so expanded. It is only in minds expanded by Yehuveh’s instruction that His covenant is embraced and confirmed! Ezekiel 1:22, 23, 25, 26; 10:1; Daniel 12:3.
        This is the first of eight uses of
metopon in Revelation [7:3; 9:4; 13:1614:1, 9; 17:5; 20:4; 22:4].
