Zephaniah Explains the Emptying of the Land
| Both the promises and the warnings of this small revelation are to guide and encourage us. Yehuveh gives us a single wise instruction to prepare us for the destruction: “Seek ye Yehuveh, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness” so that you may “be hid in the day of Yehuveh’s anger.” Isaiah made the same appeal with the same assured outcome: “Seek ye Yehuveh while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto Yehuveh, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our Elohim, for He will abundantly pardon.” Zephaniah 2:3; Isaiah 55:6-7. Compare Psalms 105:4; Jeremiah 3:13, 14; 4:1, 2; 29:12, 13; Hosea 7:10; 10:12; Amos 5:4-6, 14, 15. .
