|Zecheriah: Coming Events and Astronomical Signs
Go to Zechariah 13:1 In that day there will be a source of right instruction opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem to correct harmful habits and choices.
Go to Zechariah 13:2 And it will come to pass in that day, says Yehuveh over everything, that I will cut off idolatrous names out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause those who claim to speak for Yehuveh and the incorrect attitudes [created by the false beliefs they promoted] to pass out of the land.
Go to Zechariah 13:3 And it will come to pass, that when anyone speaks for Yehuveh [falsely], then his own father and mother will say unto him, You will not live; for you speak lies in the name of Yehuveh: and his own father and mother will penetrate him to his very heart when he misrepresents Yehuveh’s words.
Go to Zechariah 13:4 And it will come to pass in that day, that every one of the spokesmen will be ashamed of his revealings, when he has spoken Yehuveh’s words [falsely]; neither will they enclose themselves in [apparent] understanding as if they knew Yehuveh’s ways:
Go to Zechariah 13:5 But each will say, I am no spokesman for Yehuveh, I am a common laborer; for mankind taught me to take employment from my youth.
Go to Zechariah 13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these oppressions forced on your hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was oppressed by my own kinsmen in my own nation.
Go to Zechariah 13:7 Awake, O warfare, against my royal leadership, and against the men that are of my own nation, says Yehuveh over everything: smite the royal leadership, and those controlled by them will be scattered: and I will turn My hand to deliver the common people.
Go to Zechariah 13:8 And it will follow, that in all the earth, says Yehuveh, two portions [of the people] will be cut off and die; but the third portion will be left therein.
Go to Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the third portion through intense conviction, and will purify them as right instruction cleanses, and will try them as only My word can challenge them: they will call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, These are My people: and they will say, Yehuveh is our Elohim.
Bible, KJV Translation:
13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
13:2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the idols out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.
13:3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.
13:4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied; neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive:
13:5 But he shall say, I am no prophet, I am an husbandman; for man taught me to keep cattle from my youth.
13:6 And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
13:7 Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man that is my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.
13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
