Significance Translation: Go to Zechariah 12:1 The sure prediction of the word of Yehuveh for Israel, saith Yehuveh, who stretched forth the heavens, and established the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him. Go to Zechariah 12:2 Behold, I will establish Jerusalem as the boundary [of right conduct] to be considered by all the people around her, when they shall lay their siege against both Judah and Jerusalem. Go to Zechariah 12:3 And in that day will I establish Jerusalem as a weighty solid model for all people: all that weigh themselves with thoughts of it shall be convicted to the heart, even at the time all the people of the earth are gathering together against it. Go to Zechariah 12:4 In that day, says Yehuveh, I will confuse everyone who is under someone else’s control, and all who control others will go mad: and I will examine the house of Judah, and will blind every person who allows another to control him. Go to Zechariah 12:5 And the anointed leaders of Judah will say in their heart, The strength of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be [solely] in Yehuveh of hosts their Elohim. Go to Zechariah 12:6 In that day will I make these anointed leaders of Judah like a cleansing bowl of intense conviction among the people, a source of understand in pure fervor among the group; and they shall bring all the people to completion in both spiritual and practical wisdom: and Jerusalem itself shall again be inhabited. Go to Zechariah 12:7 Yehuveh also shall educate the established leaders of Judah foremost, that the high esteem of the house of David and the high esteem of the inhabitants of Jerusalem never overshadow [Israel’s and the world’s] high regard for Judah. Go to Zechariah 12:8 In that day Yehuveh will protectively hedge about everyone in Jerusalem; and those of low confidence among them shall be as [bold as] David; and the house of David shall be as Elohim, as the messenger of Yehuveh to them. Go to Zechariah 12:9 It will occur in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. Go to Zechariah 12:10 And I will pour upon the royal lineage of David, and upon everyone living in Jerusalem, the spirit of harmony and of appeal: and they will look to Me with heart-piercing conviction, and will mourn for their wrongs, as one cries for his only son, and be in bitterness over them [their abominations and iniquities], as one is for his firstborn. |

Bible, KJV Translation: 12:1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him. 12:2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. 12:3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it. 12:4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness. 12:5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God. 12:6 In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. 12:7 The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah. 12:8 In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them. 12:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 12:10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. |
