Page 1

Significance Translation:
Go to Zechariah 9:1    The ominous prediction of the word of Yehuveh in the land of Hadrach [Syria], with Damascus its capital: when the attention of humanity, like that of all the tribes of Israel, shall be focused on Yehuveh.

Go to Zechariah 9:2    And Hamath also shall border [northern Syria]; Tyre, and Zidon, though it be very wise [in human economic wisdom].

Go to Zechariah 9:3    And Tyre built herself a financial fortress, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.

Go to Zechariah 9:4    Behold, Yehuveh will cast her [Tyrus, Tyre] out, and He will smite her [merchant] power in the sea; and she shall be consumed by fire.

Go to Zechariah 9:5    Ashkelon will see it [Tyre’s fall], and be terrified; Gaza will also see it, and be very grieved, and Ekron; for her anticipated gain will be shattered; and the high ruler will perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon will be uninhabited.

Go to Zechariah 9:6    A mixed population will dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the arrogance of the Palestinians.

Go to Zechariah 9:7    And I will take away blood-eating out of his mouth, and his corrupting foods from between his teeth: but everyone who remains shall be totally committed to our Elohim, and each shall be as a strong leader in Judah, as entirely unyielding in Ekron.

Go to Zechariah 9:8    And I will encamp about Mine house because of the [invading] army [see Ezekiel 38-39], because of him that passes by, and because of him that returns: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I Myself will see to it!

Go to Zechariah 9:9    Rejoice greatly, everyone taught by Zion; shout, all who learn from Jerusalem: see, your human ruler comes unto you: he is righteous, and brings deliverance; humble, but carried forward by a love of righteousness, with a keen alertness born of righteousness.

Go to Zechariah 9:10 The rising monarch will cut off war transport from Ephraim, and war horses from Jerusalem, and all weapons: and he will speak peace to the nations: and his dominion will be from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

Bible, KJV Translation:
9
:1  The burden of the word of the LORD in the land of Hadrach, and Damascus shall be the rest thereof: when the eyes of man, as of all the tribes of Israel, shall be toward the LORD.

9:2  And Hamath also shall border thereby; Tyrus, and Zidon, though it be very wise.

9:3  And Tyrus did build herself a strong hold, and heaped up silver as the dust, and fine gold as the mire of the streets.

9:4  Behold, the Lord will cast her out, and he will smite her power in the sea; and she shall be devoured with fire.

9:5  Ashkelon shall see it, and fear; Gaza also shall see it, and be very sorrowful, and Ekron; for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.

9:6  And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.

9:7  And I will take away his blood out of his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth: but he that remaineth, even he, shall be for our God, and he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite.

9:8  And I will encamp about mine house because of the army, because of him that passeth by, and because of him that returneth: and no oppressor shall pass through them any more: for now have I seen with mine eyes.

9:9  Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

9:10  And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim, and the horse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow shall be cut off: and he shall speak peace unto the heathen: and his dominion shall be from sea even to sea, and from the river even to the ends of the earth.
