Zechariah 13, Page 4 | |||||
Re-evaluation Translation: 13:2 And it will come to pass in that day, says Yehuveh over everything, that I will cut off idolatrous names out of the land, and they shall no more be remembered: and also I will cause those who claim to speak for Yehuveh and the incorrect attitudes [created by the false beliefs they promoted] to pass out of the land. |
Bible, KJV Translation: 13:3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth. |

Yehuveh Saves the His True People: Commentary on Zechariah 13:1-9 (3 April 2009): Significant Words and Comments: Commentary on Zechariah 13:3 (3 April 2009): “It shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy,” that is, when any shall claim to be teaching Yehuveh’s ways but will actually be teaching falsehoods, that even his own “father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live.” The intensity of restored righteousness is stronger than family ties, and anyone who now dares to speak “lies in the name of Yehuveh” will not only forfeit his family acceptance, but his very life. His own parents “shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.” “It shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall be ashamed every one of his vision, when he hath prophesied.” At this time, all those who have taught the traditional lies of the various religions of the world will acknowledge their errors and be ashamed of the falsehoods they have taught. They will then realize the falsehoods of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday worship, of Christmas and Easter holiday-keeping, and, indeed, of the entire Gregorian time-keeping system. They will admit their misdirection of endorsed pork-eating, of substitutional salvation, and of perverted doctrines of death and of life itself! Jeremiah describes this situation graphically: “As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets. Saying to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto Me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us. But where are thy elohims that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy elohims, O Judah. Wherefore will ye plead with Me? ye all have transgressed against Me, saith Yehuveh.” Jeremiah 2:26-29. “Neither shall they wear a rough garment to deceive” is literally, “neither will they wrap themselves in pretended or apparent understanding as if they truly knew what Yehuveh had said or what He wanted the people to know.” Significant Words: 13:3 (3 April 2009): Shall come to pass [H1961] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 1:1. When [H3588] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 7:5. Any [H0376] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 1:8. Yet [H5750] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 1:17.
