Yehuveh’s Assurance of Jerusalem’s full restoration: Commentary on Zechariah 8:1-23 (3 February 2009): Significant Words and Comments: Commentary on Zechariah 8:20-21 continued (3 February 2009): Psalms 138:4-5: “All the kings of the earth shall praise Thee, O Yehuveh, when they hear the words of Thy mouth. Yea, they shall sing in the ways of Yehuveh: for great is the glory of Yehuveh.” Isaiah 2:2-3 [Micah 4:1-2]: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of Yehuveh’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of Yehuveh, to the house of the Elohim of Jacob; and He will teach us of His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Yehuveh from Jerusalem.” Zechariah 2:11: “And many nations shall be joined to Yehuveh in that day, and shall be My people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that Yehuveh of hosts hath sent me unto thee.” Zechariah 14:16-17: “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yehuveh of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, Yehuveh of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.” Malachi 1:11: “For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same My name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto My name, and a pure offering: for My name shall be great among the heathen, saith Yehuveh of hosts.” The picture presented in Scriptures is that (1) Yehuveh will first clear the land of Israel from those who have “refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear. Yea, they made their hearts as an adamant stone, lest they should hear the law, and the words which Yehuveh of hosts hath sent.” (2) Then those of Israel who have confirmed their covenant with Yehuveh will be restored to their homeland. “I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded.” (3) Once Israel is settled and re-educated, Yehuveh brings people from all willing nations to learn Yehuveh’s ways from restored Israel.
