Zechariah 4:10
Re-evaluation Translation:
4:10 For all who grieved the day of small beginnings shall rejoice to see the separation accomplished by the activities of those who flee falsehood through Yehuveh’s seven appointments, enlightenments of Yehuveh to the whole earth.

4:10 For who hath despised the day of small things? for they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of the LORD, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

Hath despised is from buwz [H0937], meaning “disrespect, disregard, contempt,” but here “been grieved by.” Buwz is used only here in Zechariah.
Day [H3117] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 1:7.
Small things is from qatan [H6996], meaning “abbreviated, diminutive (in quantity, size, or number; or in age or importance).” The slow beginnings of Yehuveh’s closing work have grieved us. Qatan is used only here in Zechariah.
Shall rejoice [H8055] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 2:10.

Stone [H0068], Yehuveh’s solid truths, as discussed by Zechariah 3:9.
Plummet is from bediyl [H0913], meaning “alloy (because removed by smelting); by analogy, tin;” from the primary root verb badal [H0914], meaning “to divide (in various senses literally or figuratively); separate, distinguish, differ, select, etc.).” Plummet is a strange translation of bediyl. Rather, the idea is that Yehuveh’s remembered people are joyful to see Him separate “between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth Elohim and him that serveth Him not.” Once again, the Elijah’s challenge is presented to all humanity: “How long halt ye between two opinions? if Yehuveh be Elohim, follow Him.” Yehuveh’s remembered people rejoice for every person who responds! Bediyl is used only here in Zechariah. Malachi 3:18; 1 Kings 18:21.

Those seven eyes are Yehuveh’s seven-branched system of appointments for our instruction, His Sabbaths, New Moons, and annual festivals schedule, as discussed in notes on Zechariah 3:9. Those [H0428] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 1:9; seven [H7651], by Zechariah 3:9; eyes [H5869], in notes on Zechariah 1:18.
Yehuveh [H3068] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 1:1.
Which run to and fro is from shuwt [H7751], properly meaning “to push forward; to lash out; to row a boat; by implication, to travel.” In Zechariah 1:10-11 the similar “to and fro” reference is to “walking to and fro” from halak [H1980], simply meaning “to walk.” It appears the translators had a “thing” for “to and fro” which is unwarranted by the Hebrew text. Shuwt is used only here in Zechariah, and only thirteen times in all of Torah.
