3:5 And Yehuveh said, Let them set establish sound wisdom in their minds. So His instructors establish sound wisdom in their minds, and enclosed them with right attitudes. And the messengers of Yehuveh took their stand.

Set is from the primary root verb suwm [H7760], meaning “to put; to lay in place, to make.” Suwm is used ten time in Zechariah [3:5 (twice); 6:11; 7:12, 14; 9:13; 10:3; 12:2, 3, 6].
Fair is from tahowr [H2889], meaning “pure, in every sense (physically, chemically, ceremonial, or in a moral sense).” Tahowr is from the primary root verb taher [H2891], meaning “to be bright; that is, by implication, to be pure, to be physically sound, to be clear, to be unadulterated; to be uncontaminated; to be innocent or holy.” Tahowr is only used twice in Zechariah, both here in Zechariah 3:5.
Mitre is from tsaniyph [H6797], meaning “a head dress; a piece of cloth wrapped around the head,” from the primary root verb tsanaph [H6801], meaning “to wrap; that is, to roll or to dress.” Yehuveh is stating that He will encircle our minds with purity and elevating enlightenment. “I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem.” Only by embracing and fully living Yehuveh’s instruction can we have our minds wrapped in Yehuveh’s sound judgment. When we have thus fully yielded to Yehuveh, “In that day shall Yehuveh of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of His people.” Tsaniyph is only used twice in Zechariah, both here in Zechariah 3:5, but there are two additional uses in Torah, in Isaiah 3:23; 62:3, where tsaniyph is translated “diadem,” and “hoods.” Job 29:14; Isaiah 28:5.
