Yehuveh [H3068] is discussed in notes on Zechariah 1:1. Wall is from chowmah [H2346], meaning “a wall of protection,” and is used only here in Zechariah. Fire is from 'esh [H0784], meaning “fire,” symbol of intense conviction regarding Yehuveh’s word. Study the notes on fire by Daniel 11:33, Revelation 8:5-6, and Enoch 14:12-13. 'Esh is used only seven times in Zechariah [2:5; 3:2; 9:4; 11:1; 12:6 (twice); 13:9]. Round about, from cabiyb [H5439], meaning “a circle, neighbor, or environs; around,” is used five times in Zechariah [2:5; 7:7; 12:2, 6; 14:14].
