Significant Words and Comments: Commentary on Daniel 12:12 (5 August 2009): “Blessed is he that waiteth” “on Yehuveh” is a certainty which runs like a golden thread of promise throughout Scriptures: “Wait on Yehuveh, and keep His way, and He shall exalt thee to inherit the land.” Psalms 37:34. “Therefore will Yehuveh wait, that He may be gracious unto you, and therefore will He be exalted, that He may have mercy upon you: for Yehuveh is an Elohim of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for Him.” Isaiah 30:18. “They that wait upon Yehuveh shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” Isaiah 40:31. “Lo, this is our Elohim; we have waited for Him, and He will save us: this is Yehuveh; we have waited for Him, we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” Isaiah 25:9. “Wait on Yehuveh: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on Yehuveh.” Psalms 27:14. Other similar Scriptures to consider include Genesis 49:18; Psalms 2:12; 28:6, 7; 25:3, 5, 21; 31:24; 33:20; 34:8; 37:34; 40:1-3; 62:1, 2, 5-8; 84:7, 12; 92:1, 13; 123:2; 130:5; Proverbs 16:20; Isaiah 8:17; 26:7, 8; Jeremiah 17:7; Lamentations 3:25, 26; Micah 7:7-9; Habakkuk 2:3. But here the phrase “blessed is he that waiteth” is far more specific and ties to the statement of Zephaniah 3:8, “Therefore wait ye upon Me, saith Yehuveh, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for My determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them Mine indignation, even all My fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of My jealousy.” Gael Bataman Originally Written: 5 August 2009 Latest Update: 3 January 2012 Return to Zadok Home Page Continue . . .
