Daniel 12:7, Page 3

Re-evaluation Translation:
(
Repeating) Daniel 12:7  And I heard the single-fire missiles, during the time of instruction, going right and left in the sky, and appointed by Him that lives for ever that it shall be for a time [from Passover, 18 April  2011], times [through Feast of Tabernacles, 12-19 October 2011], and an half [midway to the next Passover, sometime close to 17 February 2012]; and when Yehuveh has redistributed global power and wealth to the purified people, all these things shall be finished.

Bible, KJV Translation:
(
Repeating) Daniel 12:7  And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

Significant Words and Comments:

Signifiicant Words in Daniel 12:7 continued (1 August 2009):

Held up, raised, is from the primary root ruwm [from Strong’s Hebrew Dictionary entry H7311] meaning “to be high acting, to rise or to raise,” as discussed in notes on Daniel 11:12. Here, rather than speaking of a man raising his hands, the Hebrew is directly addressing the firing of missiles into the air. Therefore, rather than referring to left and right hands, these words describe missiles flying left and right of their origin. This echoes Zechariah 5:6 regarding missiles going “through all the earth.”

His right (hand), used only here in Daniel 11-12, is from yamiyn [H3225/H3231], meaning “the right (hand, side, leg, eye, etc.) of a person or other object (as the stronger and more dexterous); locally, the south.”

His left (hand), used only here in Daniel 11-12, is from the primary root semo'wl [H8040], “to be dark (as enveloped); north; the left.”

Heavens, shamayim [H8064], is discussed in notes on Daniel 11:4.

Sware, used only here in Daniel 11-12, is from the primary root verb shaba` [H7650], properly meaning “to be complete; to seven oneself, that is, to swear (as if by repeating a declaration seven times).”

Liveth, those who are alive, chay [H2416/H2421], see Daniel 12:2

For ever, `owlam [H5769/H5956], “concealed; eternity; always,” as discussed in notes on Daniel 12:2.

Time and times, mow`ed (first singular, then plural, which is mo’edim) [H4150/H3259], properly meaning “an appointment, a fixed time or season,” as discussed by Daniel 11:27.

An half, used only here in Daniel 11-12, is from chetsiy [H2677/H2673], meaning “the half or middle,” from the primary root verb chatsah [H2673], meaning “to cut or split in two; to halve.”  Chetsiy is used 125 times in Torah, sometimes as a very specific measurement and sometimes informally to approximate the middle or near-equal parts. There is no stated object of this word.

Accomplished and finished, completed, kalah [H3615], see Daniel 11:16.

To scatter, in this context, to distribute, from the primary root verb naphats [H5310], “to dash to pieces.” Naphats is used only here in Daniel 11-12.

Power, from yad [H3027] meaning “a hand and all that a hand can possess, thus possessions, as well as power, direction,” as noted by Daniel 11:11.

People, `am [H5971/H6004], is discussed in notes on Daniel 11:14.

Holy, qodesh [H6944/H6942], “clean; set apart,” as by Daniel 11:28.

All, kol [H3605/H3634], “the whole,” as discussed by Daniel 11:2.

These things, Hebrew idiom 'el leh [H0428/H0411], see Daniel 11:4.
