In Mr. Charles’s text clear distinction is made where words and phrases are present in the Hebrew texts but not in the Greek texts, and likewise when such words and phrases are present in Greek but not in Hebrew. Herein I have merely incorporated the Hebrew passages and italicized those which were in Greek but not in Hebrew. I am personally concerned that these Greek “additions” pervert the original intent. For that reason, I personally prefer to read each verse which has Greek additions as it would read without these insertions. Again, The Book of Enoch as translated by R. H. Charles and with extensive commentary, and the same original text translated by Laurence without much commentary, are available from the publisher’s website: www.artisanpublishers.com.
