Commentary on the
Book of Enoch, Chapter 10:15-22c.

Text

(Repeating) 10:15  And destroy all the spirits of the reprobate and the children of the Watchers,
          because they have wronged mankind.
10:16  Destroy all wrong from the face of the earth and let every evil work come to an end: and
let the plant of righteousness and truth appear: and it shall prove a blessing: the works
of righteousness and truth shall be planted in truth and joy for evermore.
10:17  And then shall all the righteous escape,
And shall live till they beget thousands of children,
And all the days of their youth and their old age shall they complete in peace.
10:18  And then shall the whole earth be tilled in righteousness,

10:19  And all desirable trees shall be planted on it, and they shall plant vines on it: and the
vine which they plant thereon shall yield wine in abundance, and as for all the seed which
is sown thereon each measure of it shall bear a thousand, and each measure of olives shell
          yield ten presses of oil.
10:20  And cleanse thou the earth from all oppression, and from all unrighteousness, and from all
sin, and from all godlessness: and all the uncleanness that is wrought upon the earth destroy
          from off the earth.
10:21  And all the children of men shall become righteous, and all nations shall offer adoration
and shall praise Me, and all shall worship Me.
10:22  And the earth shall be cleansed from all defilement, and from all sin, and from all
punishment, and from all torment, and I will never again send them upon it from
generation to generation and for ever.
Commentary

10:15-22
continued “Therefore will I save My flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle. And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even My servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. And I Yehuveh will be their Elohim, and My servant David a prince among them; I Yehuveh have spoken it. And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. And I will make them and the places round about My hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am Yehuveh, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.” Ezekiel 34:22-28.

[Written to Gog—China—regarding their final attack on restored Israel. This follows the emptying of the land of Israel (Zephaniah 1; Micah 1; Isaiah 24; Jeremiah 25) and its restoration to a faithful people (Zechariah 1:7-17):] “After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.” “Thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates.” Ezekiel 38:8, 11.

“And Yehuveh shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Yehuveh, and His name one. All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses. And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.” Zechariah 14:9-11.
