| Introduction to the
Explanation of the Twelve Transition Events in
Noah’s Year of Deliverance
| The Scriptures encode much information crucial to our lives, usually presented in stories in such a manner that it can be identified at the time needed. The story of Noah’s year in the ark is one such encoding, and the time to apply it corresponds with the year of our deliverance, the seventh or Sabbatical year of the seven-year focus of Revelation. [Study the notes on Revelation 1:11.]
Noah’s year of judgment on the wicked and the preservation of the righteous is repeated this year, and we need to understand the insights and the twelve dates provided in Genesis 7-8 and the two from Leviticus 23:26-43 for the decisions we must make at the present time.
The details of the story of Noah’s year in the ark are to be replayed in a tragic global drama this year. Genesis 7 and 8 present these events with explicit dating and exacting accuracy. Before these events begin, every individual who chooses Yehuveh’s ways, and many who have not yet done so but who will do so as these events unfold, will be placed in sheltered circumstances (by 13 May 2011, as discussed by Event 1).
Regarding this protection, we are promised: “Yehuveh will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.” Isaiah 4:5-6.
A week later, “the second month, the seventeenth day of the month,” 20 May 2011 (Event 2), “the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.” Genesis 7:11.
Quite literally “all hell broke loose,” and for the next forty days and nights (Event 3) the natural disasters and human violence around the globe broke with such rapidity and intensity as to astonish even those who were anticipating these events. “Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.” Jeremiah 6:25.
As in the time of Noah, natural disasters [violent earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, hail, tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, etc.] will destroy lives, bringing with them wide-spread famine, raging diseases, panic-driven rioting and civil wars. In desperation, men flee from their homes, only adding to the desperation and instability.
Of course, in their effort to restore some degree of order, governments will follow with their decrees (ultimately greed–driven and desperation-driven oppression). The devastation of these forty days has been beyond imagination or description. What has been reported in the media is but a fraction of the picture.
Even the Scriptural description falls short of the full reality: “I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith Yehuveh. I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, saith Yehuveh.” “Behold, Yehuveh maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof.” And yet even the previews we have seen in recent months are nothing to what is coming. Zephaniah 1:2-3; Isaiah 24:1.
Yehuveh calls this year during which He will “punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity” “the indignation” and promises to preserve His people throughout this time just as He preserved Noah’s family. The first step in our protection is knowing what is going on, the details of this year being provided in Noah’s story. Isaiah 26:21, 20. Continue . . .
