The Day of Vengeance
of Our Elohim

Page 2

Revelation 12 describes the timing and events of this war, steps which prepare the world for that moment when “a loud voice” can proclaim, “Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our Elohim, and the power of His anointed [instructors],” the time when the kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Yehuveh, and of His anointed.” It is crucial that we rightly anticipate these fast-approaching experiences. Revelation 12:10; 11:15.
        In
Isaiah 61:2 the anointed of Yehuveh are told to determine and proclaim the date of “the day of vengeance,” and other Scriptures give us insights as to how we are to do this. By Scriptures, we know the events of “the day of vengeance of our Elohim” are part of Yehuveh’s plan to remove “all the wicked and godless” from the earth. Similarly Psalms 91:7-8 tells us that “a thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand . . . the reward of the wicked.” What do we need to know about this day in order to proclaim this warning? Enoch 1:1.

Identifying the “Day of Vengeance of Our Elohim”
Step One: Understanding the Event
        Twice, in addition to
Isaiah 61:1-2 [“The spirit of Yehuveh Elohim is upon me; because Yehuveh hath anointed me to . . . proclaim the acceptable year of Yehuveh, and the day of vengeance of our Elohim. . . .”], Isaiah associates the day of vengeance with a specified year of Yehuveh: “For it is the day of Yehuveh’s vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.” “For the day of vengeance is in Mine heart, and the year of My redeemed is come.” The Hebrew word here translated day [yohm, H3117] is translated unspecified time in 65 of its 2124 uses, about 5 percent of the time, and could conceivably be so translated in these three verses, but Yehuveh has left no question that this will be a specific single day: “Therefore Yehuveh will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.” “I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.” “Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols? . . . And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day; and shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth. And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.” Isaiah 34:8; 63:4; Isaiah 9:14; Zechariah 3:9; Isaiah 10:11, 17.
Though eventually the whole world will be judged and cleansed, Yehuveh’s vengeance is initially against Israel and Jerusalem for their rejection of His wisdom and ways, as He warned them through Moses:
“If ye shall despise My statutes, or if your soul abhor My judgments, so that ye will not do all My commandments, but that ye break My covenant: . . . I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of My covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.” Repeatedly He warns: “Have ye forgotten the wickedness [wrongness, purposefully-made wrong choices] of your fathers, and the wickedness of the kings of Judah, and the wickedness of their wives, and your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they have committed in the land of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem? They are not humbled even unto this day, neither have they feared, nor walked in My law, nor in My statutes, that I set before you and before your fathers. Therefore thus saith Yehuveh of hosts, the Elohim of Israel; Behold, I will set My face against you for evil, and to cut off all Judah.” Leviticus 26:15, 25; Jeremiah 44:9-11.
