The Flood

“And the end thereof shall be with a flood,” echoes the exact wording used in Revelation 12:15, “The serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.” We are seeing physical flooding in association with major tropical storming and other weather anomalies, but the implications here are much greater than even the devastation of these floods. Here the flood is coming from the serpent’s mouth. It relates to Isaiah’s comments, “In a little wrath I hid My face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith Yehuveh thy Redeemer. For this is as the waters of Noah unto Me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but My kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of My peace be removed, saith Yehuveh that hath mercy on thee.” Isaiah 54:8-10.

Psalms 18:4 explains  this word flood very well: “The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.” Isaiah 8:7 strengthens the application of this flood to movements of  powerful and politically driven people, “Now therefore, behold, Yehuveh bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks.” In the face of this coming surge of powerful political destruction, it is nice to read the words of promise, “So shall they fear the name of Yehuveh from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of Yehuveh shall lift up a standard against him.” Isaiah 59:19.
As this final seven years of renewing
“the covenant with many” draws a dramatic contrast “between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth Elohim and him that serveth Him not,” the surge of opposition will rise like floodwaters. What an assurance Yehuveh gives us! He Himself will lift up His standard against this flood! Malachi 3:18.

The End of the War

“And unto the end of the war desolations are determined,” discusses the war in heaven which is necessary to bring the great red dragon down. “Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, and prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil, and satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” Revelation 12:7-9.
Yehuveh tells us this tragic final
war ends with a great consummation for He Himself “will utterly consume all things from off the land.” This destruction and desolation of the wicked and rebellious is absolutely necessary before Yehuveh can “bring in everlasting righteousness.” However, in the midst of such dire predictions, Yehuveh mixes words of strong confidence and hope for His people: “Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. Yehuveh redeemeth the soul of His servants: and none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate.” “Come, behold the works of Yehuveh, what desolations He hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; He burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am Elohim: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Yehuveh of hosts is with us; the Elohim of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” “Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For Yehuveh shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” Daniel 9:27; Zephaniah 1:2; Daniel 9:24; Psalms 34:21-22; 46:8-11; Proverbs 3:25-26.
