Appeal for a Vegan Diet

“Feed me with food convenient for me.”
“For thus saith Yehuveh Elohim,
the Holy One of Israel:
In returning and rest shall ye be saved;
in quietness and in confidence
shall be your strength.”
Proverbs 30:8; Isaiah 30:15.

“B
ecause of the current Salmonella threat, be sure to wear a clean new pair of rubber gloves when preparing the chicken for baking.” The spokeswoman on the radio was focused. As I listened a single thought circled in my head: “If I can’t touch this food for fear of poisoning, why would I
choose to eat it?” Personally I find no consolation in the assurance that cooking the chicken would kill the salmonella bacteria. It is clearly very dangerous to handle the uncooked chicken at all, and doing so offered the potential that I could spread the food poisoning before I ever got the chicken to the oven!
        But, to the positive side of this issue, I simply don’t eat chicken anyway, so I won’t need the rubber gloves! I do find consolation in that!

Only the Best Foods
        From the beginning
Yehuveh has purposed only the very best for His children. He says, “I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Thus, from their very very first day Yehuveh gave mankind directions for their prosperity, physical health, and spiritual well-being. With these instructions came a sure promise: “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of Yehuveh thy Elohim, and wilt do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am Yehuveh that healeth thee.” Jeremiah 31:3; Exodus 15:26.
           In the Garden of Eden Yehuveh gave humanity the most beautiful and enjoyable diet:
“Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seeds, which is upon th face of all the earth, and every tree, in the wich is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.” As discussed in detail in Diet, Nutrition, and Food, man has had a long sad journey downward from where Yehuveh placed him in Eden. When we realize our losses and purposefully chose to co-operate with Yehuveh in “returning,” our lives will dramatically change. Genesis 1:29; Isaiah 30:15.
