Abundant Water
Page 3

Just before being taken into captivity to Assyria, Yehuveh told Israel: “Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, . . . now therefore, behold, Yehuveh bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria.” Repeatedly Ezekiel describes situations which will bring humanity to know that He is Yehuveh. (Ezekiel 6:7, 10, 13; 7:4, 9; 11:10, 12; 12:15; 13:9, 14, 21, 23; 14:8; 15:7; 20:38, 42, 44; 23:49; 24:24, 27; 25:17; 26:6; 28:23; 30:26; 35:15; 38:23.) Most of these situations involve traumatic and violent circumstances, but in chapter 20 He told His people, “I gave them My statutes, and shewed them My judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them. Moreover also I gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am Yehuveh that sanctify them. But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness: they walked not in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and My Sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out My fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.” Isaiah 8:6-7; Ezekiel 20:11-13.

So as you pray for the provision of “living water,” remain willing to co-operte with Yehuveh in the answer. Anticipate that He may answer in amazing ways.

Assurance
We are assured that Yehuveh wants to supply us with fresh, pure
“living water” for our physical needs. “They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for He that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall He guide them.” Equally so, He wants to supply “living water” for our spiritual needs. “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of Thy pleasures.” “Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.” “For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour My spirit upon thy seed, and My blessing upon thine offspring.” Isaiah 49:10; Psalms 36:8; Isaiah 12:3; 44:3.
        Yehuveh appeals:
“ Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto Me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto Me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.” Isaiah 55:1-3.
