Seek Him Early Page 3 |

The Keys: Seek Him by asking Him to awaken you. When I first began to enjoy a regular time with Yehuveh in the Scriptures my prayer every evening was, “Father, please give me a full hour of uninterrupted time with You tomorrow morning.” I had small children and unless He awoke me early, there would be no opportunity to spend this hour with Him. He was faithful. Often the children would come bounding out at the moment my precious hour ended, but Yehuveh never failed to give me the full hour for which I prayed. The impact of spending a precious hour with Yehuveh each morning is that soon an hour isn’t enough. The blessing of this time of nurturing is that very soon “you can’t eat just one.” Shortly after I began this Isaiah 50:4-5 experience with Yehuveh, my prayer changed. Soon instead of begging for one “full hour of uninterrupted time with Yehuveh,” I was begging Him every night to awaken me early enough for two hours with Him. And that’s when I discovered a new side to the story. Rather than just awakening me earlier, Yehuveh began to show me the aspects of my lifestyle which made me need the longer hours of sleep. These aspects included: Diet: How much I ate [Less food, served natural or prepared very simply, fewer combinations all affected sleep requirements.], how often I ate [twice a day is best], and at what time [before mid-afternoon]. And how heavy the food was [quantities of nuts, legumes, and processed vege-meats require more energy to digest and will therefore demand more sleep. Tree-fruits and whole grains allow for minimum sleep.]. Exercise: Regularly in the open air [Frequently filling the lungs with oxygen and circulating it throughout the body reduces the need for the sleep-restored energy and thereby reduces sleep requirements.]. Stress: How quickly I took challenging matters to Yehuveh in prayer and left them there [Energy not consumed in fretting or worrying didn’t have to be replaced ]. Sleep: What hours I slept [The earlier I went to bed, within sensible reason, the fewer hours of sleep I required. I had read that the hours before midnight were worth double the hours after. It seems to be true in my experience]. Through these and other insights, Yehuveh answered my prayers for more time with Him. My sleep requirements dropped from demanding eight to ten hours every night to thriving on four or less hours per night consistently. Since I’ve always been jealous of the hours lost to sleep, this delighted me greatly! He’ll do the same for you. Yehuveh’s Promises Do you crave to have the rich wisdom gained in the early morning hours? Without question, it can be yours! Remember Yehuveh promises: “I love them that love Me; and those that seek Me early shall find Me. Riches and honour are with Me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and My revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: that I may cause those that love Me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.” Proverbs 8:17-21.
